Church is a Family! This means that we enjoy social events together as well as worship.
Several times a year we enjoy a shared meal. Usually this is a 'Bring & Share' meal where people attending bring a contribution to a buffet. We encourage people from other cultures to bring food from their own country: this enables us to try foods from around the world as well as dishes from nearer home. Frequently these shared meals are combined with an activity such as a fun quiz.
Theatre trips are always popular. In recent years we have enjoyed trips to: Prom Praise in the Royal Albert Hall, Cats, The Pirates of Penzance, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof.
Occasionally we may join with our ecumenical partners, Trinity and St Nicholas, in a social event such as a Harvest Supper or to enjoy a musical.
We have also enjoyed trips abroad, usually to somewhere of Christian interest. In the past we have organised trips to: Israel and Jordan, The Footsteps of St Paul (Greece and Turkey), the Passion Play at Oberammergau, a Nile cruise, Rome, Istanbul, and Garda. We went to Budapest in 2015 and probably will be organising a similar trip in the spring of 2017.
